An Age To Crumble

There are no more true securities,
Tomorrow is not worth an investment,
Traveled the world to marvel great cities,
Yet intensive efforts offer no better treatment,

Stood dwarfed by monuments weathered and old,
Lowered my head to leaders and idols so bold,
For nothing I have acted, for they too will fall,
My enemies and allies pushed firmly against the wall,

Nothing stands forever, immune to time and erosion,
Lightning may strike down even the mightiest of us,
Therefore we are all left weak and open to division,
We are fragile, broken and not worth the fuss,

Because this is an age to crumble.
