Holding Onto My Darling Sunshine

It was near the end to each day,
Whereby we would retreat to privacy.
Only gentle words from the heart,
Could be heard from the room,
As our songs played for one another.
I would take my place upon the arm chair,
Basking in the glorious light of the setting sun,
Then my darling angel would rest in my arms,
Upon my lap until she would drift into dream.
Never would I dare to disturb her peaceful rest,
Not as long as she glowed like a goddess,
Hair sparkling like a million celestial bodies,
Her unbelievable heart beating with mine,
Holding onto my darling sunshine.
